Tell Me That’s Not Love

Real love stays.

Real love comes with understanding and trust.  Real love, well… it gets it.  Real love can let go and hang on to the good at the same time.  Real love doesn’t have to be forever but somehow it still is.

Real love stays during the times you tell yourself, “you can do it.”  Real love remains in the moments that you find the courage to keep going. Real love stays in the moments you look in the mirror and smile.

Real love isn’t your strength but it strengthens you.

Real love isn’t forgotten.  It’s remembered in many smiles, in strong moments, in inside jokes, and quirks.  Real love doesn’t have to last- but it’ll survive in the heart.  It lives there and stays.

Real love remains as the only thing left.  The pain- it doesn’t last forever, the hurt-it doesn’t stay long either, but real love… it stays with you.

Real love doesn’t leave before it’s gone.  Real love is honest and real love does what’s best.  Real love doesn’t look for excuses and real love knows when it’s time is up.  But real love is never gone; real love, it leaves itself behind.

About Danielle Clark

I am 28 years old and for 5 years out of college I played basketball for a living. I was a professional basketball player in Europe so I spent most of my years there and came back to Maine for summers and a couple weeks at Christmas time. I thought my years there would open my eyes to what I want to be when I "grow up." That didn't happen. I have discovered, however, that I just have to try something. Just do things and toss myself into them. I have currently tossed myself into being a college basketball assistant coach and one on one reading tutor. I grew up in Corinna, Maine and have been a resident Mainer. I love sports, reading, writing, cooking, baking, watching movies... everything. I have lots of hobbies and not enough time in the day!
