More Growing Up

I am spoiled.

Or, I was spoiled.

I knew it though. I haven’t worked a full time job in the summer… Ever. Until now.

So many firsts for me this year… So many, “oh, this is how it feels” moments. My least favorite “oh” moments occurred every single day last week.
“Oh, this is how it feels to be inside on a gorgeous, blue sky, I-love-Maine, beach day.”
Yup. I’m a working girl. I’d always hoped to avoid being inside in the summer but, alas, bills call!
Besides learning that a job (or lots of them) in the summer isn’t the funnest thing, I’ve also discovered these other things.
There is always food.

You can’t avoid random free pastries  that are brought in at least once a week. Surprise! Have a 500 calorie donut to start your day.
It’s really hard to fit in workout time.

Get up at 5 am to workout or try forcing yourself to run after an 8 hour day.

It’s easy to be tired.

You have to make sure you make plans to live and have fun, otherwise it’ll be work and sleep… Something I swore I wouldn’t let happen.
It’s easy to bring your work home with you.

I just have to realize that work will be fine without me.
You lose touch with social media.

Hallelujah

About Danielle Clark

I am 28 years old and for 5 years out of college I played basketball for a living. I was a professional basketball player in Europe so I spent most of my years there and came back to Maine for summers and a couple weeks at Christmas time. I thought my years there would open my eyes to what I want to be when I "grow up." That didn't happen. I have discovered, however, that I just have to try something. Just do things and toss myself into them. I have currently tossed myself into being a college basketball assistant coach and one on one reading tutor. I grew up in Corinna, Maine and have been a resident Mainer. I love sports, reading, writing, cooking, baking, watching movies... everything. I have lots of hobbies and not enough time in the day!
